How to improve the energy efficiency of a single-family home
A 230m2 single-family home in Alicante (2006) with an energy rating of F, can achieve a significant improvement with the installation of renewable self-consumption sources and an Aerothermy system. Improvements can save up to €3,250/year and can lead to the home achieving an A energy rating, which only the greenest buildings can achieve.

From normal home to optimised home

Besides achieving significant savings, these improvements optimise sustainability and reduce the home's pollutant emissions compared to its initial energy consumption:

Improvements to be implemented

Although the changes to be made are extensive, the benefits are a substantial improvement in emissions and in the way energy is consumed.

gestión de ayudas

Smart Aerothermy

14.640 €
Fossil-fuelled heating and air-conditioning (A/C) systems are replaced by a single Aerothermy system, which reduces energy bills and also contributes to the sustainability of the planet.

Smart Solar

11.190 €
This is a good option, as photovoltaic self-consumption systems are the future of energy consumption in homes. By 2050, photovoltaic energy will be key to the decarbonisation of the planet and will be present in the majority of Spanish homes.

Grants Management and Energy Certificate

240 €
Users who decide to opt for a more sustainable model can do so with public grants. Their management, as well as the processing of the new energy performance certificate (EPC), requires personalised advice.

Only 0.25% of households achieve an A rating

It is worth noting that, of the seven categories in the table, only this small percentage of households achieve an A rating, according to the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).

Tangible results, great benefits

The interventions, as well as the EPC and grant management, cost €30,065, but with tax deductions, up to €9,000 could be saved.

Short-term benefits
  • Energy efficiency. The energy efficiency of the home is improved.

  • Thermal comfort.

  • Sustainability. Reduction of polluting gases by using less energy.

  • Revaluation of the home.

Notable reductions

  • Energy consumption. Less use of fossil fuels.

  • C02 emissions. Reduction of greenhouse gases.

  • Outside noise. Reduced ambient noise due to better insulation and improved A/C system.

  • Electricity bills. Savings on electricity bills.

Sustainable and economic benefits

The changes to the property, rather than an intervention in the home, are a firm commitment to the future. Upgrading the home from an F to an A energy rating reduces CO₂ emissions and energy consumption, resulting in savings.
A real commitment to sustainability for the planet.
