How to improve the energy efficiency of a single-family home

We are dealing with a 130m2 home in Madrid (1997) with an E energy rating, which reflects low efficiency, high energy costs and considerable environmental impact. In this case, we made a significant improvement by obtaining a C energy rating for the home and saving up to €335/year in energy bills. All this, thanks to the façade insulation, a change of boiler and the installation of a charging point for the electric car.

From normal home to optimised home

In addition to achieving significant savings, these improvements optimise sustainability. They do so by significantly reducing the pollutant emissions of the home compared to its initial energy consumption:

Before

10.544 KWh/year

1.919 kg/year

After

Improvements to be implemented

The actions to be carried out are very simple and quick to perform:

Mejora 1
Façade insulation
1.210 €
Improves the thermal barrier of the façade and significantly reduces heat and cold losses in winter and summer. Minimises dependence on heating and air conditioning systems, with considerable savings in energy consumption, improving comfort in the home and increasing its value.
Mejora 2
Condensation boiler
1.350 €
Replacing a boiler that is more than 14 years old with a condensation boiler not only optimises energy efficiency, but also reduces pollutant emissions and enhances the value of the house.
Mejora 3
Installation of charging point
2.216 €
In a world where electric cars are becoming more and more common, a charging point at home is essential. These technologies help reduce pollutant emissions, reduce outside noise and promote a more sustainable lifestyle.
